Chicago, Oklahoma, New York, Saigon, Paris, St Louis...and Armley?
Yes, this bustling corner of West Leeds is about to get the full showbiz treatment.

Armley - The Musical is making its world premiere on Sunday and it's sure to be a riot of music, laughter...and property developers!

The foot-stomping show is the brainchild of Boff Whalley, lead guitarist with Chumbawamba, along with fledgeling director Justin Audibert and producer Alan Lane.

The brand new show highlighting "the more glamorous side of living in Armley" will be unveiled at Armley Mills Museum as part of the I Love West Leeds Festival main day.

The play will be performed against the backdrop of the redundant mill machinery in the grounds of Armley Mills.

It tells the tale of a property developer who comes to West Leeds from the Home Counties looking for a money-spinning project, but ends up finding romance amongst the mills, barbers shops, prison boundaries and carpet-selling hoardings of Armley. Boff moved to Armley more than 25 years ago from across the Pennines in Burnley.
