Organisers of this year's I Love West Leeds Festival need your help to make the event a scream – an ice scream in fact.
They are putting out a plea for the loan of an ice-cream van which will act as the base for a chilled-out new comedy performance.
The van – which does not need to be equipped – will be used to transport the performers from The Cream Machine around West Leeds, stopping in a range of locations to whip up local support for the three-week festival of arts and community.
Organiser Jane Earnshaw explained: "The festival is run on a tight budget, so it would be fantastic if we could borrow an ice-
cream van for a couple of weeks.
"That way we can take the festival to parts of Leeds we couldn't otherwise afford to refresh."
The van is needed from June 30 for a two-week period.
However festival organisers are hoping to customise the traditional tunes so that they can play sound effects like the screeching of tyres when the van comes to a halt.
The Cream Machine is a cartoon, comedy caper.
If a suitable van can be found the performance will take place at locations around West Leeds from Sunday, July 6.
Venues include Armley Mills, Armley Town Street, Pudsey centre, Bramley Shopping Centre and Pudsey Park.
This year's I Love West Leeds Festival runs from July 5 to 20 and includes dozens of fun activities including Armley – The Musical, the Marvellous Armley Tea Dance and a retro roller disco. The main festival day is Sunday, July 6 at Armley Mills.
