Armley residents have been protesting about the planned closure of Heights Way Drive post office.
Scores of supporters were united in their bid to save their beloved branch.

Post Office Ltd plans to axe 22 branches in Leeds – and more than 60 across West Yorkshire – as part of a wide-ranging overhaul of the national network.

Objectors now have less than a week to make their views known, after which bosses will decide on a final hit-list.

Across the country, 2,500 post office branches face the chop as bosses desperately try to recoup millions of pounds being lost by the network every week.

A public consultation on the proposals is now under way and West Yorkshire people have until June 23 to submit their views.

* For more information on the proposals, visit: www.postoffice.co.uk/networkchange or call 08457 22 33 44.
