More than 50 cannabis plants and expensive growing equipment were seized during a drugs raid on a New Wortley pub.
Police descended on the cannabis factory, which had been set up in an upstairs room of the partly boarded up Crown Hotel on Tong Road in New Wortley on Friday, June 19.

Items seized during the raid included plants, seeds and lighting and heating equipment. Officers loaded the contraband on to a skip before it was hauled away.

The drugs farm had been discovered earlier after firefighters were called to the building.

It is thought an electrical fault in the growing equipment may have started a small blaze.

Several people have now been questioned in relation to the cannabis find.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said officers were "continuing to make inquiries to trace those responsible."
