Peace has finally been restored to the Broadleas after the authorities swooped.

A TV, video player, DVD player, computer and a number of CDs were seized by council and police officers from the home of Pamela Milner of Broadlea Road.

She regularly played music channel MTV at excessive volumes late into the night, leaving neighbours exhausted and stressed, according to the
council.

Following dozens of complaints, council officials visited the address to hear the music for themselves. Ms Milner was served with a noise abatement notice but ignored it.

She was witnessed on at least three further occasions playing music at unacceptable levels by the council's noise team.

Council officers swooped on the property on Thursday to seize the audio equipment in an attempt to prevent future disturbance. Ms Milner could now face a £5,000 fine, criminal record and permanent forfeiture of her audio equipment.

Councillor James Monaghan, Leeds City Council's executive board member for environmental services, said: "Excessive noise at inappropriate times can make people's lives a misery and I am pleased we have carried out this seizure."
